It’s not too late to catch the latest comedy at Door County’s Peninsula Players Theatre in a Garden. Here is a synopsis of their latest show, Comic Potential from the Peninsula Player’s website:

In the not-too-distant future, comic lessons between scriptwriter Adam and TV actoid Jacie turn hilarious – and romantic. Cast in “Hospital Hearts,” JCF 31333 is one of many programmable acting androids. She faces being scrapped because of a glitch in her system — a glitch for comedy, the “pie-in-your-face” kind, which emerges at very inopportune times and overrides her programming. Adam and Jacie run away, embarking on a real life adventure that takes on epic soap opera proportions.

Comic Potential was recently named by Time Magazine as “one of the 10 best plays of the past decade.” It received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy and was nominated for Outstanding Off-Broadway Play.

The Bittorf Brothers will be performing at West Fest in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, August 21

The Annual West Fest, on Sturgeon Bay’s West Side business district, will take place Saturday, August 21std, 2010 from 10am to 4pm. This western themed event will be fun for young and old with most of the action on Madison Avenue between Maple and Oak Streets.

Activities will include a craft show, chili cook-off, a Gold Rush Giveaway with cash prizes, and more! John Wayne look-a-likes are invited to join the Cowboy Costume contest – prizes will be awarded for the best dressed cowpokes!! Sample a variety of great things to eat and enjoy entertainment from local favorites the Fairland Blue Grass Band, the Bittorf Brothers and the John Welch Band filling the streets with a good mix of wild west country music.

The Door County Maritime Museum will add a little nautical flavor to the day with their Tug Fest featuring tours of the John Purves Tug, children’s model tug building, and an inflatable jump house.
