Spring in Door County: we can feel it in the air!

Spring in Door County takes on many meanings. The most obvious being the change in the landscape. Even with our surprise snowstorm last weekend, daffodils survived the shock and are popping up along the roadsides and woods. Trilliums can’t be far away.

Another sign of spring in Door County is the annual announcement of the performing arts season. The 2012 season includes some old favorites and some new surprises.

June 7 – 10 brings another Steel Bridge Songfest to the streets and venues of Sturgeon Bay. pat mAcdonald and melaniejane have another amazing weekend of music planned and while the artists have not yet been announced, keep track here and check back often.

Peninsula Players has a strong line-up, but I predict the odds on favorite for the season will be Lombardi. Fresh off a successful run on Broadway, Lombardi tells the story of the man not just the myth.

Jeanne Kuhns Woodwalk Concert Series has an exciting season that includes he return of her son Eli Mattson and old favorites Marybeth Mattson, Katie Dahl and Krista Detor.

Coming soon: more announcements of the upcoming season in Door County!
